The project
Tearfund reduced its Public Affairs capacity after a restructuring process across the organisation. Following the July 2024 general election, the UK had a Labour government for the first time in 14 years and there was an overhaul of many sitting MPs with the electoral swing. In order to help Tearfund engage with the new Labour government, new cohort of MPs and the FCDO Development review, Tearfund tendered for consultancy services to examine its previous work and the current political landscape, as well as identify key advocacy targets and opportunities for influence.
Good Faith’s public affairs team produced a high-quality paper to support Tearfund’s government and parliamentary engagement in the short-term and long-term. The report provided a series of practical recommendations that would allow Tearfund to use its strong reputation in the development sector to maintain and build its reputation with key stakeholders in the new Labour Government.
We used desk research, interviews and quantitative analysis to produce a report that met Tearfund’s needs and gave their small team the tools they needed to also set a vision for future growth and impact.
